We are an Independent Fundamental Baptist Church in Roanoke Texas that looks to the Bible as the final authority in all matters. We believe the Bible is the word of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness (II Timothy 3:16). Our services are always centered in the Bible, and humbly prayed over for the Holy Spirit's guidance in all truth (John 16:13). If you love God's word, and christian bible study, we would love to have fellowship with you and rejoice together in God's grace!

Sunday School (10am)

We start the day with a Sunday School Bible study for all ages at 10am. Before our study, we sing hymns to rejoice in the wonderful works of our Lord Jesus Christ. After worship, we give handouts to go along with the Bible lesson. Our current 2025 lesson series is "Living with Courage" and looking at how Biblical characters were faithful witnesses for Christ.

Sunday Service (11am)

After Sunday School, we have our morning service where we have worship and Bible teaching. Our current theme this year is "Living in Christ" based on John chapter 15. "Abide in me, and I in you. as the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing." (John 15:4-5). We look at how we can live in Christ and walk a life that is pleasing to the Lord that serves him daily.

Church Lunch

After the morning service, we meet in the fellowship hall for a potluck lunch after every Sunday service! We all bring different kinds of food and visit with one another. In the spring, we also have cookouts where we get together, play games, and enjoy one another's company!

Sunday Afternoon Bible Study (1:15pm)

After lunch, we get together one last time for worship and Bible study. Our Sunday afternoon Bible study series is "Called to Run" where we look at different Biblical characters callings from God. We give "fill in the blank" handouts to follow along the teaching lesson as well.

Wednesday Bible Study (7:00pm)

For our mid-week service, we worship and give handouts to go along with the Bible teaching. The Wednesday lesson series is "Grace for the Pace" where we study deeply on salvation and God's loving grace in our lives.

Finding a Good Group of Believers is Tough

With all of the various churches available, many have unfortunately compromised on sound biblical principles for growth. Many churches today choose worldly practices, flashy marketing tactics, and a church growth mindset rather than a gospel centered approach.

This makes finding a biblical body of believers harder, and harder to come across. There is no decision more important than finding a christian church that edifies you and your family to spiritually grow and worship in Christ.

At Gospel Light Baptist Church, we align ourselves with how Christ wanted to establish his church and conform to his will. We believe here you will find an honest, Christ centered congregation that loves God and his perfect word.

We exist to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to the lost (1 Corinthians 15:1-4), edify the saints, and exalt God above all else.

We desire to live in Christ daily, encourage one another, and worship the Lord in spiritual songs and hymns.

What are the service times?

Our Adult Sunday School begins at 10:00 AM, our morning service begins at 11:00 AM, and our Sunday afternoon service starts at 1:15 PM after our fellowship lunch! We also have mid-week Bible studies on Wednesday at 7:00 PM.

Is there a dress code for attending?

No, there is no dress code. We welcome you to come as you are!

What is the worship style like at Gospel Light Baptist Church?

We sing traditional songs from hymn books making melodies in our heart to the Lord (Ephesians 5:19-20).

Are you affiliated with a parent church?

We are not apart of a parent church or report to any formal convention. We are a group of local Bible believers that operate as one local church.
