Our Pastor Doug Ellis
Hello, and Welcome to the Gospel Light Baptist Church website! I am Pastor Doug Ellis. In October 2008, the Lord led my family and I to plant Gospel Light Baptist Church in Roanoke, Texas!
Seeking God’s direction, we began services in a storefront located in Roanoke Center. Today we are located on the hilltop. Our church sits on the highest point in Roanoke overlooking Hwy 114.
The view reminds us of the multitudes who need to hear about Jesus.
Matt 5:14 “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.”

Our Ministries
We offer a variety of ministries and programs for all ages, including youth groups, Bible studies, and outreach programs. Our ministries are designed to help our members grow in their faith and serve others in our community.

At Gospel Light Baptist Church, from the early days in the storefront we envisioned a world where everyone feels loved, valued, and accepted. Still today we strive to create a community where people can come together to worship, learn, and grow in their faith.
Our History
Sending Pastor Dr Bob Smith of Trinity Baptist Church Arlington Texas, Pastor Ellis & Pastor Karl Ogdie of Lakeland Baptist Church Fort Worth Tx, where Pastor Ellis surrendered to preach the gospel message of Jesus Christ!
